Project

Julia and Ulysses S. Grant lived in Detroit between April 1849 and May 1851. They resided in a small Greek Revival home on old Fort Street, where Lafayette Park is today. Now relocated to a new, permanent location at the corner of Wilkins and Orleans Streets in the Eastern Market District, efforts are underway to rehabilitate the home and give it a new life.
